CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Chatbots. Machine learning. Facial recognition. These are just a few of artificial intelligence's (AI) many capabilities. On Wednesday Oct. 18, the American Advertising Foundation (AAF) Greater Lehigh Valley chapter will hold “Marketing Beyond Limits: The AI Advantage,” a program taking a comprehensive look at AI, at Penn State Lehigh Valley from 5 to 7 p.m.

AI has been a popular topic in the news for the past few years. “Marketing Beyond Limits” will feature a panel of industry experts covering a broad array of relevant information, from AI’s basic function to a deeper dive into capabilities most casual users have never imagined. Throughout the program, three key pillars of AI will be addressed: generative, analytical and operational.

With industry panelists leading the discussion, attendees will learn the creative potential for using AI in design, for streamlining content production, and how data-driven decision making can be used to develop a strategy.

"The world of AI is a vast topic that permeates almost every aspect of our lives, said Susan Kovacs, a senior account executive at Viamedia and the program chair of AAF-GLV. "Recent discussions have been buzzing about the impact of AI and the ongoing advancements in machine learning, causing concern among experts about its future. Despite the continuous evolution and expansion of AI, a significant portion of professionals still have limited knowledge and practical experience with it. This, in turn, has generated apprehension about its potential effects on the industry. Our program aims to equip professionals with crucial and up-to-date insights on leveraging the benefits of AI."

Panelists include Daniel Marcolina of Marcolina Design, a partnership with his wife, Denise, and one of the first all-digital design firms in Philadelphia; Ted Colegrove, a Bethlehem, Pennsylvania-based designer and photographer; Laks Srinivasan, co-founder and managing director at Return on AI Institute, and Thomas Helfrich, founder and CEO of InstantlyRelevant.com, a distinguished authority in the fields of lead generation and marketing strategy.

“AAF-GLV is a non-profit organization run by a board of volunteers dedicated to connecting marketing, advertising, and aspiring professionals. This event marks another milestone as we strive to expand our network with larger-scale events and invite diverse skillsets and knowledge to our area,” said Sarah Sterner-Hausknecht, graphic designer, educator and AAF-GLV president. “We look forward to providing this relevant and cutting-edge programming to our members and professional community!"

Cost is $35 for AAF-GLV members, $50 for non-members, and $10 for students. For more information or to register, visit AAF-GLV’s event page.
